Anti-Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Resources, Information and Advocacy
One of our main goals is to link martial arts training to anti-sexual and domestic violence education and advocacy. We share information, resources, research and testimonials regarding how martial arts/self-defense training could contribute to the battle against these deeply complicated issues.

My name is Ryan Haack and I am the Founder of The Indomitable Spirit. I started my martial arts journey in 2022 at TRA Jiu Jitsu in Jersey City, NJ under Professor Thiago Rela. When I was first introduced to jiu jitsu, I became fascinated with grappling, submissions and ground fighting. But on a deeper level, I found my pursuit of martial arts was unlocking a new sense of purpose in my life. After about a year of practicing BJJ, I felt a strong obligation to prove that martial arts can help someone build confidence and self-efficacy. Since early 2024, I've been developing the Indomitable Spirit to be an organization that supports martial arts practitioners with scholarships, donation drives and programming. Our main goal is to allow everyone to have access to martial arts training if they want it. An indomitable spirit is a courageous spirit that cannot be subdued or overcome. In our studies in martial arts and in life, we aim to have this kind of spirit while facing every challenge. I encourage you to follow me on this journey and support us if you can!
